2015 GT Vert 6k miles. Backing into parking stall power steering goes out. bad Whining noise when turning steering wheel, wheels don't turn unless car is off. No fluid leakage. Suspect it is electrical power steering module. At dealer now. Anyone else with this problem? Thoughts on what broke?

I just posted a thread about mine. It has not failed but is noisy and slight texture coming through the steering wheel. Did this from the beginning.. now have 1800 miles.

Update

Yes. Confirmed. Power steering pump failed. Car brought to dealer on a Thursday, dealership states part coming from Sacramento California (8 hours away driving), but part won't get here until Monday???? Really 4 days to get a part from 8 hours away.....that is absurd.

Dunno what went bad, but it's not a pump.

I too, hear a whirring noise, but only in a parking lot, and turning right.

The GTs have a power steering pump? Thought they were electric.
You are correct; there is no power steering pump on any model. All S550s use Electronic Power Assisted Steering (EPAS), which has the electric power steering motor mounted to the steering gear (rack & pinion).
