I posted in the engine section didn’t get much action.
I want to increase my power a bit and thought I should do headers... but it’s a bit more than I want to spend....

So fast forward to now, I visited a local showroom that sales and does installs...
They recommended their brand Steeda... for a CAI and Tune...

I just want to discussion around this.. my 2 questions are:

should this be my next mod?
Is it going to make a difference by feel?

what brands should I consider? I know Ford offers one, I think Roush has one, Steeda... just not sure what to look for...

From what I’ve just heard around the forums is it’ll add about 20-30 HP with a tune, which is mostly attributed to the tune itself. Mostly you’ll get maybe some throttle response improvement and a little added power, but I don’t believe it’ll be anything dramatic.

Someone who’s done it already can chime in though and correct if I’m wrong.

Steeda makes some quality stuff I know Roush stuff is always good quality. You do tend to pay more for the Roush name though but to some it is worth it. I can’t say how the two tunes compare to each other. The Roush does have like a 30K mile warranty usually if you have the dealer install it all.

Getting my car tuned by Lund was the best thing I did so far. Particularly the flex fuel tune, really woke the car up. Most agree that you should save your money and not spend it on a CAI. You won't see any noticeable improvements and in fact will run higher IATs.

I’ve read that too... I’m going to research some more...
I wanted to do headers next but the install cost is ridiculous.

And honestly, you won't see that big of a gain for hp. I would spend my money on the tune. You won't be disappointed.

To put it into perspective, a close friend of mine got 450 rwhp from a tune and a catback. Stock headers.

Anything that does not include a tune is not going to get you very much horsepower, that's just how it is. Headers "alone" will get you loud but not necessarily faster.

guess I can just order a tune online and it’s just plug and play...

This is what I ordered, https://www.cjponyparts.com/lund-racing-ngauge-with-tune-gt-2015-2020/p/NG4-V/

I preferred to get the nGauge because it allows me to have multiple tunes for the car.

In your case, you would buy the nGauge and the tune. Once you got the nGauge delivered, Lund Racing would be in contact with you and ask you to provide them with a datalog. You would send it to them and they would update your tune as needed, so a bit more involved than simply ordering a tune online and installing without running any logs.

I made a video on it a few months back if you are interested.
