So, I have purchased a Dual Camera Dash Camera, and along with it a power unit that connects into the power and will power the dash cam, but if the power gets below 12v or 11.8v ( you can set it), it'll shut down the camera to prevent the battery from getting drained.

I should have the car in the next couple weeks, but want to plan ahead since I have nothing better to do. The control unit has an input for always on power as well as ACC power. The instructions show to connect to a fuse box by pulling an appropriate fuse and wrapping the wire around a leg of a fuse then plug the fuse back in.

First, is there a fuse box in the interior to connect to?

Second, it seems hack to just wrap a wire around a fuse leg and work off that. Are there better nearly as easy ways to connect into a PWR and ACC line?

The power control is a Power Magic Pro. Essentially a box with a few wires and a cigarette lighter dongle.

I had the Power Magic Pro in my VW and plan to use it in my GT. I need to look for power as well for it, and my Valentine One.

I agree with you about the hack and slash recommendation of wrapping one leg of the fuse and instead went back to my trusty "add-a-circuit" tap. Just make sure you get the one for the correct fuse size used in the fuse box.

That way, you also have an isolated fuse on the Power Magic Pro as well as whatever the factory fuse was wired up to.

That's definitely a cleaner solution, thanks for that. I'll check that out.

I found a decent one that supports up to 20 amp circuits. I got two, one for PWR and one for ACC. The manual says there's a fuse box in the passenger foot area on the right, which will be perfect.

There are circuits marked 'Not Used', and there are circuits marked 'Not Used (Spare)'. I wonder if the spare ones are live. Either way, it won't be hard to get connected up. The camera maxes out at 4.8 watts, so the load is really quite small and shouldn't cause issues with the existing circuit's operation.

So, it turns out, the ones I got won't work, they were the wrong size.

It seems in the circuit box in the passenger foot well has a couple different types of fuses. After poking around a bit online, I now believe the Mustang has Micro2 and Micro3 fuses in there. I bought a Mini Add-A-Circuit. Two of them actually.

Now I need to figure out if I can get by with getting two Micro2 add-a-circuits or if I need to find a micro3 version. There are only a couple micro2 fuses in the box, but most are micro3.

I use the Mobius Actioncam and plan on using the power port on the right side of the console. I have a dual port charger so not worried about wires since they don't bother me, but may try and run the wire under the glovebox and around the right a-frame piller. Hopefully I can tuck the wire in easily without removing the trim.

Running directly to the fusebox is good idea though and will explore that option. Wrapping the wire around the fuse seems ok to me.
