Hhhmmm … Chewy or crispy …

I’m normally an Ironman kind of guy, but this time I’m defo with the captain … :like:

I normally cook bacon sandwiches for family on Saturday morning, two layers with the rind cut off for the kids and other half with brown sauce (before the tops went on) :

Four layers for me on the crust :

If we have barm cakes (buns ?) or muffins in it would be on those. If I cook smoked bacon I normally accompany it with melted cheddar cheese.

Either way it’s always cooked chewy and always with brown sauce, the bacon I have had when visiting the states looked like it had been on vacation and Chernobyl … :cwl:

Thank you. The dish is traditional Hungarian. It's chicken thighs slow simmered in a tomato and sour cream sauce, heavily seasoned with paprika. The galuskas are a simple egg dumpling that is first boiled, then crisped in a pan.

I can go into detail on how I make it if you like.
Never heard of it before so I googled it...now I'm gonna have to give that a go once the stove arrives.

It's a favorite of ours. Just be patient, it's a low and slow dish. Start to finish takes about 3 hours. There is some down time, but not as much as with a soup/stew.
Good to know. We are going to give it a go. Thanks for the tips.

Beef short ribs. I seasoned with coarse salt and cracked a whole lot of pepper on them. Vacuum sealed and froze on 9/3, full disclosure. To prepare tonight I cut the bones out and chopped up the meat. Cooked the bones and this yielded a nice pre-dinner snack but the rendered fat is what I was after, to cook the meat in. If you like tacos, try this and I bet these will be some of the best you've ever had. Garnish with onion and cilantro, top with your favorite salsa.

If you know how to make rice, there you go...

Breakfast trio for a morning game. Smoked salmon dip with capers and chives. Crepes with a hand squeezed lemon glaze. Sausage, egg, and cheese handpies with a country gravy dip. Not the best pics but had to be on the couch by kickoff

Wow that's a perfect pile of rice! Mine always looks similar to that of a ravaged pile of leaves in the fall.... LMAO...

The wings look great man. How'd you cook them? I've been wanting to try the method below, and think I will this weekend!

Thanks! I fried them just once but my process could have been better. My haste left a little to be desired on this batch. I cooked a little over 6lbs of wings in 2 batches. Even with my double super burner on med-high, that amount of wings dropped the oil temp considerably and the crunchiness was there but could have been a lot better. I’ve had double fried chicken and wings, both were crunchy and excellent. In the video you posted, his second round of frying was done at a higher oil temp in small batches of wings. It will take a lot longer but that’s a must for super crispy wings. Post up your pics of how it goes!
