Successful install of the official map files from Ford:
I'm officially on the latest 3.4 SYNC and latest 19 maps from Ford. Hallelujah. Thank God for Cyanlabs for a tool that lets your format your device. Without that I would have been stuck on corrupt Sync and Nav files.
I've been on that version for a few weeks, but I wanted my car to be "official" with the XML upload to Ford that you send post-upgrade so they know I'm updated. I dunno... I have OCD :crazy:
Ok. Downgraded with Cyan to 3.3. Factory upgrade to 3.4 with today's update a success (other than infinite reboots so I PULLED OUT after the third reboot :facepalm:) Now just need to re-install nav, but I don't really care since I use Android Auto when I want Nav.
I pulled out (lol) checked the drive. Look at this:
The log in each folder says:
"
InterrogatorLog() +
CopyInterrogatorLog +
Interrogator log generation unsuccessful
CopyInterrogatorLog -
InterrogatorLog() -
getVINnumber thread already terminated
"
I think it's because I did CyanLabs a few...
Because the update can take over 30 minutes and the car will auto shut off in the middle of the update which will corrupt the entire file system. Happened to me once, so I went the Cyan route which reformats the entire device like a proper update.
yea it's because the nav files in your car are corrupt, just like mine was. You need that special app from ford support to wipe your nav files so the install can happen fresh.
I got fed up and just ended up doing Cyan. The stock unit software was clearly corrupt. Cyan installed everything with no prob. Ford / Alom needs to give vehicle owners software to re-format their Sync units in case they do become corrupt which is HIGHLY likely given cars will shut off if you...
