Poor Sirius reception?

OK, so just so I understand correctly, if I wanted to do this I would have to pull out the head unit (after removing the center console?), unplug the SAT radio antenna lead (I presume it's got a separate plug from the regular antenna radio?), then plug in this new magnetic antenna and place it somewhere under the dash?

Would anything further than the center console need to be taken apart?

The issue is getting to the Sirius tuner to find where the factory antenna plugs in. I took apart the dash as in this video: but when I pulled back the radio faceplate, I could not see the tuner, only the CD unit. Maybe the tuner is integrated into the CD box, but I didn't want to go any further to remove the CD box to see what was behind it. Plugging a new antenna in and routing it is the easy part. Hopefully someone will tell me where the tuner is located.

No problem.. just use the pink connector.. and you have to trim the sat connector on the radio.. Ill try and show you a video .. but its really easy

I don't need to.. I can program everything.. its essentially what I told you.. I just send you a display that is programmed and an ACM that is programmed and an antenna.. all they do is ship you a programmed ACM and an antenna and a module that programs the display.. I don't need any of that.. I can program it myself

Yeah unfortunately as you already know, your set up won't work with my system. This one, should work...just trying other options for users like me.

This is no different than what I offer.. so how would this work with yours? the problem with yours is the unit you installed.. it has no way to work with sirius unless they say otherwise

Lol...I have no problem with what I installed. You're the supposed OEM expert bud...clearly there is a difference with what you are suggesting versus this kit. Again, I don't need Sirius in my car, just trying to think out of the box not to mention, cure my curiosity...no big deal.

That looks like a different SSM, the one for Sirius is SSM 45710
