Pony Projector Image Scratches

I've had my car only about a month and all of a sudden one day I noticed the driver's side pony projector image had some bad scratches in it. It looked like the pony was running through a lightning storm or something lol.

Took it to Ford to get it replaced (under warranty of course) and the service advisor said that just the day before someone else had been there for the exact same problem. Anyone else experienced this?

The rental I had was scratched on the head of the pony. Made it look like a unicorn.

I have a set of the color pony projector overlays sold by M6G member Zombie here. Not only do they color the projected light, but they protect the projector from scratches.

I've seen those- very nice. I like the white color but would be willing to get a set of those just for the protection factor.

This issue has been going on since they introduced those in previous year models.

Dealer replaced mine under warranty no questions asked. Now noticing the passenger side looks mottled, like the horse has mange.

Not sure if someone tried to steal or the tabs just broke . But I noticed my driver side one hanging about 5 days ago tried putting it back in but didn't stay because of broken tabs. Used some electric tape to keep it in place for now.

My Projected Pony looks like a Pregnant Armadillo now after only 2 months, does anyone know what causes it?

Never did figure out the cause but I had both of mine replaced under warranty.
