I have seen a lot of spherical bushings out there for the front control arms and most of the rear suspension pieces but there hasn't been any polyurethane bushings available. I was wondering has there been any interest from anyone else wanting poly bushings for their suspension? Some of us in autocross/racing can't do sphericals for our classes but can do poly. Also I'm guessing not everyone wants to run sphericals for their DD.

The S197 mustangs have nearly all of their suspension components available with a poly or delrin option while there is hardly anything out there for us. I get the platform is new and is way different in the rear than the past but I want some poly suspension pieces!

Are there future products out there? Or is there a design problem preventing poly suspension pieces from getting made?

Polyurethane is just not effective (nor reliable) in a pivot point which relies on multiple load and articulation planes.

Once you figure out the proper material to make the part durable and not bind, or increase "snap-back" - you then have to consider the performance gain. Is a soft polyurethane bushing going to outperform the factory rubber? I think you start to split hairs at that point. You can't use a high durometer material, as you will quickly cold flow and deform the bushing, and when not deformed...the amount of bind and snap back would be insane.

There are companies who have them available already. The best design I have seen for the FLCA bushing replacement is from Super-Pro. The image quality is poor, but it is the top center two pieces with the adjustable sleeves and wrench (caster adjustability)

I was just noticing through your catalog even, that BMR has a lot on offer for poly/delrin options for the s197. I know the application is far different but I was wondering if anything was in development for us? Is it just cause of the design of live rear vs IRS?

We do not offer polyurethane products for a component which has pivot points that are on drastically different planes and have serious loads applied.

We do have, and are working on a few new pieces that have polyurethane bushings but we are very selective.
