Ugh, except it's wrong.

If it was poisonous it would kill you when you ate it.

Snakes are venomous, because the inject venom that kills you.

Few years back I was in Namibia for vacation. We were staying at a lodge close to Etosha. While walking from our cabin to the dining area a cobra reared up on me right next to the pathway. Concerned, I went to reception to report the snake. The lady at reception looked at me with disdain and said "Sir, this is Namibia..."

Fair enough I guess.

Did your feelings get hurt by the fact that I pointed out that the unidentified owner of the customized plate doesn't know the difference between Poisonous and Venomous? If anything I probably made this thread more fun than "hey I saw a car on the road today".

Also looks like it has been rear-ended before and they never re-applied the rear bumper stripes after the accident.

Same here while in Botswana... "Oh, be mindful of the Spitting Cobras while walking in the field." "What?!"

Maybe the unidentified owner is Bob Poisins and you're completely off base with your assumption. Or, maybe it was wordplay with Poison and Sins. Or, maybe...? I never thought spelling and factual accuracy were a thing on vanity plates...

You can try and justify stupidity and incompetence or you can call it out in an effort to educate and eliminate it. I choose the latter. You have fun doing the former and let's see which method results in a better educated populace.

If the owner's name was Bob Poisins, then obviously my critique is irrelevant. The point was that this is not the first time I've seen a Shelby, Viper, AC Cobra, etc.. with a "poisonous" license plate.

Bleach is poisonous, snakes are venomous.

facts have a way of doing that.
Yeah, but this isn’t like, a political debate or solving world hunger, it’s a car. A car meant for fun, not sucking the life out of the air.

Or . . . 🤪 maybe it was carrying all of the band members - hence the "s" on the end of Poison...

In the end, it's a vanity license plate. Some are clever, some are dumb, but mainly I DRGAF? I hope you're not really bothered by the odd, incorrect placement of that question mark. 😂

Another funny moment was when we came upon a posh British couple stuck in the mud next to a flooded section of the salt road by the skeleton coast. After we pulled them out the woman came up to me all aghast and said "Why weren't we warned there was a flooded section? Surely there would be a sign?" :giggle:

Great stuff... as my PH would say when I questioned anything... "TIA" (this is Africa) No truer words were ever spoken.
