PittRace Sold and repurposed!

I am sitting here scheduling my 2026 HPDE events and I've discovered (through my Ai assistant) that PittRace has been sold and will be repurposed. Apparently the zoning was changed just before the sale to accept Data centers.
That Really BLOWS! that was such an awesome track, one of my absolute favorites. Mid Ohio is still my home track, 3 hours, PittRace was 4 hours, Road America is 6 hours + Chicago traffic. NMC is 8 hours and Watkins Glen is 9 hours. I guess I can try Autobahn. Putnum park look less entertaining than Grattan which is 2 hours away for me.
Oh well, Nothing to do but adjust.

We have a High end Motorsports complex being built in my Back yard, Howell, Mi, called Motorsports Gateway. Membership fee $70K, annual Fees, $7,500 and the condos start at$600K, I'm sure thats naked, then you have the buildout. Not likely to see any HPDE's there. Not my budget for sure!

Yep it is a shame, and the track will be sorely missed by many. We were all very surprised given how much work was just completed this past season, including a ton of new garages, some of which are visible in the picture of our cars that was taken at the end of the very last Lowkey Autocross event. I have been going to that track since 2005 and am sorry to see it "repurposed".

AI strikes again. Everyone jumping on that BS is causing it to explode and this is the result. Data center projects with unlimited money looking for anyone with a bunch of land, and offers too good to refuse.

Also semi related: funny how the grid can’t handle EVs, but it’s ok if they keep building data centers.
