The rim is an integral part of the wheel so when someone gets new wheels they're by default also getting new rims, no?

If you're swapping to Gorilla nuts from OEMS you can also say you got new nuts eg 'I've got Gorilla nuts'.

"i got new rims" sounds better than "i got new alloys" to me lol

Don't know if that's an English thing?

My 5.2 liter is an engine, NOT a motor... motors are electric.

Diesel vehicles use fuel, NOT gas.

ABS, IRS, and HID are initialisms, NOT acronyms... NAPA is an acronym.

A hex bolt without a nut is a screw, NOT a bolt. A bolt consists of two components... a screw and a nut.

Granted I'm a dyed in the wool gearhead going back to the late 70's. But you put a tire on a wheel and a wheel has a rim. Why do people call wheels 'rims"??
Tomato, tomaaato.
Maybe it is from those that had 3 piece wheels, what do you call, on half of the hoop.

Nope, a motor is not necessarily electric. A motor is something that can impart motive power.

ANSI-ASME B18.2.1 states that a bolt is an externally threaded fastener, generally used with a nut. A screw is also an externally threaded fastener, generally used without a nut. So a stud is a bolt designed to secure a rim to someone's 'wheels'. And a head bolt, without a nut, is still a bolt (it could be conceded that the block is the nut, kind of).

The first three are a actually acronyms. They're pronounced 'abs' (as in abdominals), 'airs' (as in airs on the side of caution), and 'hid' (as in, "he hid from the grammar police").

The letters in NAPA are spoken individually.
Or even erring on the side of caution. Must be the airs over there.
