That's it. When we see the PP wheels, we know it's someone who actually cares more about driving than texting.

I've owned 8 Mustangs: 6 with manual transmissions and 2 with automatics. For a track car (road racing, autocrossing, or anything else with lots of corners) get the manual trans. For a daily driver and/or drag racing, get the automatic. I'm a drag racer and my car is my daily driver, so the automatic was the obvious choice. And, the 6R80 automatic is much stronger than the garbage Getrag MT-82 manual that Ford chose for the Mustang. A Tremec manual trans would have been a much better choice (like we had before 2011).

Interesting. It's a must have for me. I need to learn manual. But I don't know anyone with one. And I don't want to buy a brand new car unsure of it all. I am still young after all though
The night before I bought my manual GT a friend of mine let me tool around in his manual Wrangler for about 30 minutes. That was the first time I drove a manual car.

You can do it.

We will all be happy if Ford offers PP with the Auto in 2016. Why should those who choose to drive a manual trans. want to keep all the cool goodies from those who either don't want to, or due to injury or old age/bad knees can't use a clutch?
And, don't forget, the Ecoboost is available with PP AND auto......

I honestly think the only reason it's not available on the GT for '15 is to protect the LE.....make it more special. And that's cool, it'll make a nice conversation piece when we look back in 10 or 20 years time on the history of S550 :)

To the OP.......my advice would be to get yourself a beater with a manual gearbox. Learn to basics in that for a few months and if you're happy rowing your own gears, then place your order. Also, waiting a few months (perhaps Five Oh Brian can chime in as to when we might be able to order the '16MY) may mean you'll know for sure if the '16 is coming with PP and auto :)

LMAO read out loud what you wrote and then try to tell me it doesn't help feed the stereotype of auto owners...

Get a manual car, you will understand later as you're shifting through the gears.

That, and thieves generally don't know how to drive manual.

My current Mustang has a stick, and I'm fine driving it, but want my wife to be able to drive it and she doesn't want or need to learn. No offense to EB guys, but I want the V8, I have an Ecoboost in our Edge, that's enough for me.

The underlined quote could be a good point, though if they steal it any ways, they're going to screw up your gearbox and clutch trying.

get the auto, 3.55 add lowering springs and better brake pads. You will be fine(and faster on the street). The benefits of the track pack are things you probably would never even notice.

Are you referring to the same stereotype that manual drivers have acquired?

Bunch of bench racers..

^^^This. This is what it's all about. Most of the differences in the PP are things that add to the car's upper 90%. Things that you will see at the track, rarely if ever on the street. Remember, the brakes on the non-PP are the same as on the 11-14 GT500. The car in any combination is more capable than 99% of the cars you'll encounter on the street. Get what you'll enjoy and don't worry about what anyone else thinks. It's not their car or their money.

That purest manual gearbox crap went out years ago, when the dual clutch autos took over F1, Indycar, IMSA, etc. Flappy paddles are here to stay and guys with old basketball and football injuries rejoice, now if they would build a dual clutch auto for the Mustang all will be right with the world, can you say Mustang GT-3? In the mean time offer PP with the auto.
Except the auto in this case isn't a dual clutch setup, which I generally reguard as more of an automated manual than a traditional automatic. And the track day crowd seems to have a strong preference for real manuals. Apparently at least some of the dual clutch units (which I agree are generally faster stock) do not like it when the car & engine are extensively modified.

But if you don't plan to track the car, you probably won't miss the PP upgrades much. But IMHO, any car enthusiast should learn to drive a manual, and preferably own one.

It is true that the GT Auto does not have PP which is stupid -- but even more stupid
is that the Ecoboost Auto can be order with PP -- very very stupid.

Not really. The Ecoboost PP is really just a lot of standard GT parts. The brakes are the standard GT brakes. You may get the upgraded radiator. I'm not sure.

I bought my '12 never having driving a manual before in my life and after one weekend of practice I never looked back. Nothing you are going to do to the clutch while learning to drive is going to be any worse than the things you'll do to it after you know how.

I thought it was the brakes on the PP that were the ones from the GT500...? Do you have a link? Did they really put BIGGER breaks on the GT PP than were on the GT500?

If so, I guess that explains why the GT500 had such horrible brake fade problems.
