Hi all, I made a pretty big decision to trade in my s550 for a new s650 earlier this week. I wanted to thank everyone in the forums here who has helped me solve the various issues I had over time, you all are amazing people. I absolutely loved my s550 and I will for sure miss it dearly.

To any young person reading this make sure you think before buying one of these cars used. 21 year old me wasn't thinking when I bought my s550 at 28k miles, and I paid the price financially when things started breaking left and right, (this never stopped either) I simply wanted a GT. I also bought it with no warranty and no gap insurance which also screwed me. Since then I am much more well off and doing things right this time. So my message is really to just be prepared financially and be smart with what you are purchasing, aka consider the history and possibilities of how it was treated.

Aside from that I really did love the car, and will definitely be around in the community.

Also one last note, my stock 10r80 was perfectly fine the entire time owning it 88k miles

Congrats on the new ride. What color did you go with? Post some pictures when you can.

I appreciate it! Its an all black premium, with the nite pony package and red brembos. I'd have some pictures already if it weren't for the constant rain every day here! I'll post some when I can.

And honest assessment and good advice in my eyes. That’s some pretty good miles and I’m sure you treated her the way she should’ve been driven. When I got rid of my 2019 with 73,000 miles it was still running like a top including the 10R80. Good luck with the new car. Love to see what color you picked.

Congrats on the upgrade! I didn't buy my 2022 GT from a local Ford dealer until they Gold Certified it at 22k miles. I always keep an emergency car maintenance fund for any unexpected issues as well. I'm not sure how long my back will allow me to drive it, but enjoying the ride so far!

Congrats on the S650, it really is a fantastic car (despite some of the negative remarks around these parts).

Sucks that you had some issues with stuff breaking on your S550. Generally these cars are pretty strong, but there are some that have their issues (like any other car). Good luck with the new Stang!

Appreciate it! Most of my issues were not engine/transmission. When i bought the car i noticed a week later a shock was leaking, and I definitely had my suspicions on how it was treated when my differential failed around 40k just driving. I can see why people wouldn't like the s650 either, especially with the controls being on the screen, but I'm definitely enjoying how it rides!

Wanted to post an update to this thread. The s650 has treated me amazing since buying it back in June. I of course miss my s550, wish I could have both! I definitely feel the improvement on stock tune vs my 2018s stock tune. Like a lot of people I of course miss the physical knobs for ac and such, that is a pain to change while driving lol and voice commands don't really work with that either.

Regardless no issues thankfully 14k miles after driving it and I absolutely love it! (I drive a lot hahaha)

I hope everyone here in the forums is doing well!

I promised some photos here months ago and never got to it, so here's some for everyone.

Good Lord, that's beautiful! Does the interior tech distract or take away from the driving experience?

Thank you! Got a staggered set of wheels being installed this Saturday to complete the look!
The interior tech can be distracting to a degree depending how you set up the car. Auto AC works amazing so I rarely have to touch it but when I do its annoying as i'm driving. If I want to put on a song voice commands work just fine. I have a custom drive mode profile set to where it sets everything up for me and my memory seat is always set by default so I really don't have to touch it once I set my drive mode to custom (literally getting in the car and pressing a button on my steering wheel twice). There is also a "favorite" button under the center console screen which is a physical button I set to quiet mode exhaust, and it will toggle between track and quiet so it solves the issue of going into the mymustang menu while driving.

Basically, If I have to, I try to do everything at a stop or before I leave, and once its all set up its really not that bad.

Now when I'm having some fun with the car I don't even pay attention to any of that stuff, my mind is strictly on the fun 🤣

I like the spoiler, flows well with the rest of the car. Any other pics of that? Maybe a side profile?
