See pic. I can’t figure out what this is or even know how it happened but I assume something under car hit it and warped it a tad compared to the other side and the plastic nut piece is missing. Thanks for the help.

You'll need to re-orient the flap to align the hole in the plastic flap to the hole in the rocker/body structure. Then you just push the clip in and press the pin down to expand it in the hole. They aren't that tightly secured to the rocker to begin with, so the flap will still wiggle even after the pin is installed.

What is the purpose of that plastic flap/guard? It looks too small to be for rock protection Is it to optimize airflow around the rear components?
