Vinyl is cheaper. Aftermarket vinyl will have more colors, width, styles than a factory will offer for painted stripes. Of course if you paint them after you buy the car that flips and you have infinitely MORE options with paint than Vinyl.I'm paying $700 for for stripes way nicer than what is offered. You guys need a reality check - lol.
Painted stripes don't have special care needs. Wash, coat, etc. exactly like the rest of the car. Painted stripes won't get ruined because someone put the wrong wax on it. Paint is more impervious to environmental damage. You rock chip, bug/bird/other stain it or mar the vinyl and you live with it or replace the entire piece. Paint you can touch up. And if you do have to replace a piece of vinyl the replacement might not match the original.
Everyone can say what any of that is worth to them as an individual but I think its way out on on the fringes for someone to think vinyl is better than painted if you take cost out of the equation.
