Broke something again...never ends. Getting pretty beat down by the constant breaking.

With the car back together and the tune in a good place decided to hit up the track. I was testing at 8# with tbrake and 2step set to 2800. After the pass noticed it sounded like a coupler came loose; like an exhaust leak that increases with RPM.

Found when I put the car in D or S the noise goes away, but returns in P.

Ended up scanning and returned a P0715 code for "Input/Turbine Speed Sensor Circuit Malfunction". I suppose it's in limp mode as I only have reverse and 2nd gear.

Anyone run into this code? Thinking possibly the converter took a crap or valve body.

I have a Circle D converter and the trans has the billet intermediate shaft and clutches.

Results are in - 6r80 issue. Makes sense why the code for the sensor

Appears a snap ring decided to break and did some damage. Surprisingly the exedy clutches and billet intermediate shaft look fine.

The fluid was NASTY.

Dang, you can't catch a break man. Sorry to see the car down again.

Now I understand why you threw a Whipple on yours and left it alone
Indeed, going fast is fun but repairing crap all the time takes away from it. Have to find the right balance...

First time I've ever seen someone else with a snap ring problem. Looks like the same one to me. Here's mine which snapped rather than twisted up like yours.

When this happened I lost reverse and had some erratic shifitng and noises. Shop described it to me as the snap ring holds all the parts together in the casing of the trans.

You can read about my 6R80 nightmares here lol

At least OP can do his own wrenching..

Imagine (like me ) if he was paying labor as well .

That’s why I am getting out of the game of 1000 whp cars after next year .

Just need to hit my goals of 9’s in the stick car and 8’s in the auto .
