You would be surprised that GT is just as frugal as EB if not better.
4cyl turbo's drink like no tomorrow especially on this heavy car.
If there is an Aussie EB out there getting worse fuel economy than 18.7L/100km then I tip my hat to him, because he must be having one hell of a good time

It must have been the day for mustangs to come and play in Canberra. A red GT in Dickson in the morning, a Yellow GT (Vic plates) in the carpark in Campbell Park and a white EB in the afternoon on Northbourne Avenue. Not a bad day's pony spotting

I was getting 11L/100Km prior to 2000km. After 2000km it seems to be better now I'm getting around 9.5L/100Km for my daily drive. How much are you guys getting on GT?
Just reached 1,300km, getting 11L/100km on open highway and 16L/100km in peak hour/DD traffic.

I've tried the open highway thing too and it went down to around 8.2L/100km. This was when I first got it. Haven't done another test recently. I thought that was pretty good fuel economy isn't it?

Sounds ok to me. 11/100 has been the best I got with the V8 so far, but I don't really mind, fuel economy wasn't a priority for me when buying this car ;). I previously had a V6 Challenger (Mitsubishi version) and that was doing 16/100 as well and it was a lot less fun to drive but practical at the time (due to age of my kids).

Absolutely! Had I bought the V8 I wouldn't really think about fuel economy as a priority either. So I don't get where people are calling the EB a fuel guzzler coming from. I understand that the romance of having a V8 Mustang. It'll probably hold it's value much better than the EB no doubt. Just don't get why people feel it's necessary to put others down for their choice. Then again, this is why we still have issues with same sex marriage not being legal. People will pipe up over things that does not influence them in any shape or form just to stop other people being happy. Thankfully the members I've met on the Perth meet are absolutely lovely and does not give me any hassle over it. Ps. I'm not gay, just saying lol :D

Mustangs are considered to be a Muscle car so some people don't accept that it should be made available in an EB or may be even in a V6. May be its a legacy of Carroll Shelby calling it a 'Secretary's car'.

Just remember, opinions are like @r$eholes, everyone has one, its your money, buy what you like, enjoy it and if someone has an issue with it, who cares?

The Mustang is a beautiful car, regardless of what engine your running in it, have fun and enjoy.

I would've definitely considered buying the EB, only reason I went with the V8 is that I've never had one before (I've had transverse 3 and 4 cyl, inline 4, supercharged 4, turbo 4, turbo diesel 4, boxer 4, inline 6 and V6) and I'm not sure how many more cars I'll buy in my life that have an internal combustion engine so could be my last chance.

The wait is part of Ford's new enhanced purchase process. Could have been worse, you could have been holding out for a RHD Camaro or Challenger (Dodge) :ninja:

Feel much the same.

The EcoBoost is a fine car too, judging by a brief drive I had of one, and I am sure it's a good choice for some people for various reasons.
