Nope can't have the word "racing" near any other. Was quite happy to have the Ford Racing Recaros on the inside and Martini Racing on the outside, but they can't share the same space.

And yes, the tribars look SOOOOO good in that pic don't they? Kinda funny how I wasn't fussed at the beginning when everyone burst a blood vessel when we found out we weren't getting them, but now... :kickrock:

Anyway, why would I want an Aston Martin logo?

How are you finding the PMAS now you have had it a week buddy?
Did induction noise in the cabin get louder?

As first reported; engine response is more immediate and just wants to take-off whatever the rpm. Main PMAS thread has independent dyno claiming around 7bhp IIRC but the throttle response is the best thing.

If the induction noise has increased it's marginal to the point of not noticing it if I hadn't been told of the intake change.

Looking forward to getting a tune on it but that may wait till I've seen these manifolds your mate has had done.

Anyway, where'd you get that new grill emblem? I want one. :D

Well chuffed with how these turned out!

I got a quote from a professional auto-trimmer/upholsterer to do these knee panels and also the centre part of the door cards. Now bear in mind I was removing the parts myself and dropping them at the upholsterer's, I felt the quote of ÂŁ550 was, well, laughable! Clearly quoted me a price that says "we can't be arsed to piss about with your tiny job". Meh.

Decided to do it myself, I mean how hard can it be....?

Actually not that bad. Materials cost me a whole ÂŁ15. (P)leather, some alcantara-type stuff, and some vinyl-ish stuff. Spent a few minutes on the sewing machine to get used to it and off I went.

Several hours later, this is the result:

Would've liked a line of stitching across the strip of black vinyl too, but getting a decent result while trying to feed all three materials through the sewing machine at the same time was a bit beyond my very novice seamstress skills!

Ironically, you can't even see them when in the car, only when you open the door and are getting in.

So now the theme is Martini/Adidas Samba? ;)

Seriously, looks very professional, especially the door card.

This. F**K. OFF.

TBH, getting the tube off was actually a doddle once I worked out how to get my entire arm into the engine bay as you can quite easily get even a long 10mm spanner on the nut. Just takes a few mins of turning at a 1/4 turn at a time.

Here you can see the stud the nut was on & the hole for the soundtube above it which gets plugged with a blanking grommet.

Now THAT was the pain in the arse. :frusty: No matter what I tried I could not get my arm and wrist into a decent enough position to be able to apply enough pressure to get the grommet into the hole.

It's in there solidily enough now but it's not 100% flush. Grrrr.

So I've been doing this today:

Which resulted in this:

The difference in the max HP figures is with the stock intake fitted and then the PMAS intake.

As you can see, that's a 9BHP difference, at the wheels, which I'm pretty damn pleased with TBH. :)

Working on a figure of 17% transmission losses (which splits the difference between the figures of 15% & 20% that are usually bandied about), that gives a peak figure of 430ishBHP at the crank. So even allowing for the dyno over-reading, that's still a cracking figure.

PMAS JUSTIFIED! :D

FYI, there was a 2 degree air temp difference between the 2 runs.

The mics you can see by the exhausts belong to an audio specialist that recorded my car for a video game. They paid for the dyno time & recorded all the runs, with mics by the exhausts, IN the PMAS airbox, next to the engine and inside the cabin, including the doors being opened and closed & even the horn. :D

I can't mention the game by name yet but it is a multi-million selling title.

You got my money Modurstang Mike? ;)
