Matt Farah recently drove a supercharged S550 around a track and kept complaining about how much the auto transmission sucks.

Matt Farah seems to only praise the Fiesta ST...

The 6R80 is pretty much bullet proof and is awesome for the drag strip but boring otherwise.

This. I know the Fiesta ST is a fun little hot hatch, but seriously... Matt Farah is always jizzing his pants about it. It's kind of weird.

And yes, the auto is a great transmission for the strip. Very, very hard for a manual driver to beat it. I know one guy who just barely eeked out a win in his manual '15 (3.73) against an auto '15 (3.55), both bone stock... but this is a guy who has been driving stick at the dragstrip for 43 f*cking years. 99.99% of Manual drivers could NOT do that. And the funny thing is, he told me that this is his last manual Mustang. When the 10-speed auto comes out, eventually, that'll be the nail in the coffin (plus he's over 60 -- gotta be hell on the knees by that point). And the MT-82 needs some real beefing up to handle much more power, too. I think you've got more wiggle room with the 6R80.

But the auto is oh so boring otherwise.

Why doesn't he just use the left paddle, the one that downshifts? That was just stupid.

The shift button was terrible, mine broke after 4000 miles. Did any other car have a button like that on the shifter?

My mother's 2015 Explorer has the shift buttons. I don't like it at all. The 2012-14 Focus models have it as well, save for the manual cars of course.
