Optioning a new Mach 1

[350 Feet]

After a year of hand-wringing, I finally decided to get a new Mach 1 instead of a '19-'20 Gt350. Part of me feels like I'm selling out, but hey, realistically the car will only see a session of two at Big Willow. Most of the time it will be zipping in and out of all the EV's that clog my local roads. The handling package and Tremec are a must for me. I already noticed that this narrows my choices down to 2% of the M1's available. I have found 3 cars nationwide that excite my brain. One is in Race Red, and the other is in Mischievous Purple. No Fighter Jet Grey, white or silver for this cowboy. Sorry to offend, but those might as well be Beige.
So, past the first two criteria, I see that the Recaro's and maybe the B&O might be a good price from the factory. Am I missing something here? More options to pick? Is the Red too old school, and the Purple to trendy?
I hate to admit it, but this might be my last fun car, and I want a good bang for the buck. Dark Horse you say? No thank you. I don't want a rolling TV that looks like it ate a Camaro.

The B&O is quite overrated. If you're an audiophile your money will be better spent by upgrading whatever sound system your pony comes with. Make sure you sit in the Recaro's before you pull the trigger. They fit some folks just fine. Others, like me, find them too tight on the sides. I really like my leather heated & cooled seats.

I bought my Mach 1 for similar reasons to you; the industry is trending the wrong way and the GT350 market is too irrational for me.

Mischievious Purple and Eruption Green are the two most interesting Mach 1 colors, in my opinion. Race Red (and Grabber Blue, for that matter) both look incredible, but don't feel as special.

I went B&O and non-Recaros since I will never track mine.

You can't really go wrong though!

Totally agree with @TrackMeisterWannabe …..B&O is a bit of a disappointment. The B&O in my F150 is a lot better which influenced my decision when I ordered my Mach. NowI kind of wish I had just ordered the normal stereo and had a shop do a mild upgrade.

I also agree with checking the fit on Recaros. I’m 6’3” and 250…they just don’t fit my proportions correctly. I have the regular heated/cooled seats and they are much more comfortable. (Although I wish the cushion part was 2” longer, and the seat went 2” lower.)

I don’t think you can make a wrong decision with a HP Mach, just have to ask what options are important to you.

On a side note….I went Tremec because it had been a few years since I rowed my own gears and love doing that…..but I kind of wish at times I had gone A10 for the convenience.

Race Red looks phenomenal on the Mach. If you can find one, Grabber Blue is the best color

I appreciate your thoughts here. There are 2 purple ones available; one I could drive home, but the other would have to be shipped. One is a new '22 and the other a '23. It's weird, but I have sat in cars that had the leather Recaros and one that had the cloth Recaros. Though the leather ones would probably wear better, the cloth ones fit better; go figure.
Yeah, can't picture myself driving a big screen TV with Trofeos.
The last Mustang I had was a '66 fastback, 289 4 spd. My teenage years enabled me to own a '67 GTA Fastback with a 390/c-6, a '65 coupe 289, and a '69 SS350 Camaro. Raising a family put most of that on the back burner. Time now to have some more fun. I'm having dreams of long-tube headers, and wearing out some tires!

I rowed a lot of gears in my day. I am VERY glad I pulled the trigger on the A10 Transmission. I really enjoy the 10 speed in conjunction with the various modes available, especially now that my local Ford transmission tech added the 1+ quarts of fluid that the Flat Rock fluid specialist spilled on the floor.

That's a great tip and reminder that the factory is not perfect. Check and double check!

When I started my Mach 1 search, I had ruled out the purple and green just based on the on-line pictures & really just not being someone that typically would like those particular colors but when I seen each in person they looked great and I would not have had any issue with earlier color.

Yeah, it's kinda funny the different things that go through your head with colors. You can be so certain about auto vs. manual, but nervous about red vs. black. If you don't mind washing your car frequently dark colors are mysterious. Get a bunch of tickets with a red or orange car? Maybe, but probably not. I have decided that at the end of the day, you have to be able to go into the garage and say that my car looks awesome.
If you ask me, Fighter Jet Grey is just a renamed version of water-tank grey. Boring as hell, and besides, I'm pretty certain that it is a sin to paint brake calipers orange...
Okay, I've decided. I'm buying the Purple M1. Well, unless the Race Red one talks to me tonight...

I agree, when the sun hits it it’s such an awesome color. Downside is if you live where it’s cloudy more days than not, it just looks black.

Cyber Orange was that color for me with regards to the pictures. I never got to see it in person before I ordered my car. Finally saw one in person about a month after I took delivery of mine and it’s really cool. Still glad I went with GBM but the color choice would’ve been a lot tougher had I seen a few of these colors in person first

Nice choice with the Eruption Green! If I had not already had a green mustang I would have considered that color. Back it the day I have a '67 GTA 390 C-6 fastback in Highland Green. I will never forget being able to cruise down the freeway at 65mph, hit the throttle and light-up the rear end. Okay, maybe it wasn't completely stock...

Go to 5:08 in the video. I debated between these two colors and though not a M1 or GT500 owner it helped me. Between your two options MP is a beautiful color, unique. The Red is classic Mach1. I understand you may have had a Green car before but this EG is unlike any other Green, I get sooo many compliments on EG.
