This one is quite bizarre and curious to see if anybody else has experienced it. So about twice a week, and usually shortly after I start the vehicle, a voice comes over the speakers in what sounds like Japanese. I tried killing all my Carplay and Sync3 apps trying to narrow it down, plus I scoured all my settings, but still no clue whatsoever as to the source. Any ideas out there?

I'm going to go with Angry50's conspiracy theory. Perhaps you are picking up Japanese neighbors transmitting over certain airwaves planning world domination? Or at least domination of your neighborhood anyway.

How are you with your asian language identification? I have had electronic devices with recordings of what sounded like factory workers in China, but never a car....

Your car was made from the radio active scrap metal from the Fukushima nuclear plant earthquake disaster.

Ingenious explanations abound. I'm guessing it's the modern equivalent of the fortune-cookie message, "Help! I'm a prisoner in a fortune-cookie factory!" Someone in a chip factory is depending on you for rescue. Good Luck!

Another possibility is this: among the many robo-calls to my phones are a few who without waiting for a "Hello" start speaking in a language I'd guess is Asian of some stripe. If your cell phone is linked, it might be persuaded to start talking to you.

Mine started playing classical music several times after start up. My phone would automatically connect to the bluetooth, but I had my phone on Pandora and I have no classical music stations.

Today we left out and again it started playing the same classical music, I’m like wtf! My wife looks at my phone and I’m guessing cause we share the iTunes account it has her music in the music file which is where the classical is coming from. Why the car or how it finds it way to that music icon and bypasses Pandora is beyond me. Now if your bluetooth is off and your getting that is beyond me,

In the two years we’ve owned it’s never done that till recently.

Yeah I think I saw a movie about this once. See some cars are actually giant robots called "transformers" and only the Chinese could create something so advanced. So it must be your car trying to talk to you

But in all seriousness, thats bizarre. OP if you disconnect your phone from bluetooth does it still happen?

Chef jpd that call is talking about the Chinese consulate or something like that? And some sort of document that needs to be signed I think

Love the responses and I definitely share your humor. I even yelled at her to get out of my damn car but she ignored me, oddly enough. Haven’t tried shutting Bluetooth off so I’ll give that a shot. If it wasn’t so random I would record a sound byte and translate it for clues. It may be some kind of hack by the Japanese automakers and will translate to “you would’ve been happier with a Camry”
