Took the car out for the first time in a while today…or was going to.

Got a low oil pressure warning and check engine light. Code P0522 - engine oil pressure sensor/switch circuit low input. I’ve seen some threads on here about that but nothing recent.

I had to get some stuff done so I took the truck and it gets dark so darn early now didn’t have a chance do anything in the daylight.

If I can manage I’ll pull the left front tomorrow to look at it. Lack of daylight will probably not let that happen… Damn job…

First don't drive it make sure your oil level is good and you have oil pressure. Most likely your sensor went bad or its leaking where the sensor threads in. My 1st gen had the light coming on and off, right by the oil filter the oil pressure sensor looked to have leak, replaced took me 5 min and it was all fixed.

BTW I have heard its best to replace with OEM unit. Don't quote me though.

Thanks @JetGray_Mach1 . It does look like a pretty simple fix that may not even require a replacement. Seems like they back out and can be cleaned up and put back in. But I’ll see if either dealer (only two near here) have one in stock. I’d rather just replace it.

Oil is a little low. I hope to be able to look at it it this afternoon.
