I'm sure I'm being paranoid, but want to ask you guys anyway....I see my oil pressure gauge bounced pretty high, 80-90psi when revving over 5-6K. I'm sure nothing is wrong since this is a brand new 2019 GT engine with just over 1000mi

What do you gents think- nothing to be concerned about?

Thanks, Alberto

The 2018+ has an oil bypass valve that closes at high rpm. It’s normal to see a step change in oil pressure but I believe the switch point is in the midrange.

This is *exactly* what I'm seeing. It oil psi gauge rises to about the midpoint as I rev up, then the gauge bounces high. With 'warm' oil- bounces to about 90psi. After the oil is HOT it doesn't bounce as high, 75psi or so.
Do you know what happens, internally, when the bypass valve closes? Maybe, keeps more oil up in the engine (just a guess)?

That’s exactly right. When it closes it forces more oil flow to the bearings and such.
