oil/oil changes

so I was checking out the general threads about oil changes and types but it was mostly coyote and eb guys posting but I was curious what all my 3.7 peoples have to say. full synthetic? stick with the recommended blend? strictly 5w20 or anyone put 5w30 in there? filter types?

I got free oil changes for however long I own my car from the dealer so it's the recommended oil and whatever filter they put on.

Mobil 1 5w-20 and Motorcraft FL500S filters. Both are good bang for the buck which fits this car's character.

I'm going to drain out the stock oil at the end the first two weeks when I start redlining the motor regularly and use Mobil 1 0W40 (Euro Spec) on a ongoing basis. I'll buy the filters from Ford. The 3.7's filter seems fairly large at first glance; at least not a weenie size like you see more and more of on engines these days.

Mobil 1 5w-20 and Motorcraft FL500S filters. Both are good bang for the buck which fits this car's character.

I've used 5w30 Mobile 1 and FL500, been about 3,000 miles on it and it runs great.
Going to switch to 5w20 on my next change to see if 'any' change. I also have a new K&N oil filter that I will try on my upcoming oil change. (It has a large Nut for ratchet loosening/tightening). I HATE HATE HATE how the oil drips down onto the electronic steering brain/module)!!!! I will try holding an oil funnel under it next time to avoid soaking the wiring from spent oil.

I use AMSOIL 5W20 OE full synthetic with their filter. I changed at 1000 miles for the engine break in, and now I'm doing roughly every 5k per the table in the user's manual.

I signed up for their preferred customer deal since I drive 30k/year, with the amount of changes I do its only 2-3 dollars more per month over Mobil 1. For me it's worth it because the Amsoil case is 12 qts, so 2 changes per case rather than screwing around with 5qt jugs.

One thing I found with this car is it is hard to get all the oil out. I drive it up on ramps and it seems to leave a 1/2 quart in the engine changing it that way.

Castrol Edge 5w-20. Been running it for a couple thousands miles. Heats up just fine and stays at normal temps even when pushing hard.
