Noticed an oil leak today in the garage (a small amount). Appears to be coming from the drain plug on the oil pan. To me it appears the plug is not fully seated. Taking it back to the dealership tomorrow. Need your expertise on if you think the plug is not fully seated.

Very frustrating to have back to back issues within a few weeks of each other. Just had a new axle replaced a couple of weeks ago for a tear in the CV joint boot.

My shop replaced the o-ring because after 4 or 5 (losing count) oil changes it started to weep.

They REALLY should include a new O-Ring for the drain plug in the oil filter kit.

I replace the plug at every oil change. They are very cheap. But if you can replace the o-ring only that is better. What is the part number on that?

I don't see it listed as a separate part number so most likely, they expect you to replace the drain plug...but they are cheap at Tasca.

Thanks, do you happen to know the PN of the plug?

FT4Z6730A is the plug P/N. $1.90 each at Tasca.
Thanks, from now on I'll just buy the plug for each oil change, like you said it's cheap. I bought the oil and filter from k-mans parts.

That's where I got my oil/filter from as well for the first change coming up at 1k miles, I think I'm going to Amsoil on subsequent changes.

^^^ I don't think they can do that. It could potentially introduce contaminants.

While I agree with you, I know that some manufacturers indicate this approach as acceptable in case of a repair like this (e.g. BMW). I have no idea what Ford would do here...

I had an oil sensor leak recently. The repair called for warranty oil. I wouldn't want them replacing the oil with drained oil in mine
