If you've been monitoring your oil for the last 6,000 miles and you're only burning 1 qt every 950 miles, you're GOLDEN! Stop worrying and just enjoy your car. The only thing you have to fear is fear itself!
Golden? I don't care what ya'll say a quart of oil every 950 miles is ridiculous. And I got that letter from Ford when I had both of my GT 350's covering there a** saying a quart every 500 miles is just fine and that's ridiculous also. Both of mine used a quart every 3,000 miles and I didn't feel great about it. Shouldn't have to constantly check the oil on the Voodoo or any other engine high performance engine or not. Thats not fear its a fact that the engine has problems, even 2020's are starting to post engines blowing for no reason no matter how you drive it. Not to many years from now after production stops on that motor it will be a common discussion about back when Ford put out the Voodoo and it was not a mechanically sound engine and Ford was replacing them with engines that were prone to the same issues.

Right, what he said. Only thing I would add is my first 350 did not have any black soot at all. This one has a stupid amount. If I was you I would continue to monitor and drive the hell out of it. The minute you get to like 1 quart every 600 miles or so I would check it every fill up. When you are hovering around 500 then I would ask them to start the test. How many miles on the car?

I have 31,500 miles now. I have black soot on the two inside tailpipes after nearly every prolonged drive. Don't know if it matters regarding the soot but I have the resonator delete. Thanks!

Maybe I should consider extending the powertrain warranty as mine is up in the next year.

I just noticed that you mentioned your engine that was replaced had no soot and the new one which doesn't burn oil has a stupid amount. So does that mean the soot is not necessarily an indicator of oil. consumption?

Other way around, sorry if I wrote it wrong. I’ve had two 350’s. First one I bought new and I had zero burning and zero soot. Second 350 I bought used. It burnt oil and had black soot. It’s at the dealer now getting engine replaced.
