I know this isn’t a Porsche forum but….. And the kicker is dealers are refusing customers request for an early first oil change.
I get a kick out of the GreatGrandpa oil change cheerleaders when seeing 200k+ factory turbo street cars with 20k OCI.

I did on my 21, first change was at 1k or 1500, 2nd was at 4 or 5k miles iirc. Never had oil burning or bbq tick. Ran it hard from about 700 miles on. On the incoming 2023, I’ll probably do 3k then 7500 then every 7500 after that.

I just checked the oil at 400mi. It looks brand new/ almost transparent. I may forgo a change until I start seeing it get darker. I will recheck it after I start driving harder after the break in. Thanks for all the comments.

I drive my car primarily on weekends, Holidays and during slack time; it won't see a lot of miles.

I agree with others that the factory fill has some additives to assist with break-in. I'll keep the factory fill until the monitor is close to expiring; it will alarm as late as the one-year mark.

I just reached break-in mileage before Winter storage.

When I do change the oil, I will change to Pennzoil Ultra Platinum and remain on full synthetic.

I drove my car progressively harder throughout break-in.

Same procedure, and no ticky (knocks on wood). Plus I reset my MPG gadget after breaking in the engine.

20K seems excessive, but I'm sure the euro spec synthetics can do it. Those cars have a dry sump system too right? I suspect that helps with oil longevity since the temperatures are more tightly controlled.

Right on.
Just when I’ve become comfortable with the 10K OCI a long comes the 20K OCI……..
Oh the insanity.
I will be sticking with 10K for awhile.

Update.
I went ahead and did the first oil change at 1000 mi and converted to full synthetic. It was a no brainer decision since my dealer gave me a free one that expires in 30 days. It took 2 hours though. They did a complete walk around with me prior to service and had me sign pre condition papers which was new to me but very nice.
