Yep, the side with the PCV valve is the one you want. I don't race either but after 1000 miles, there's a couple ounces of oil in it. So I personally rather not have that oil in my intake manifold or cylinder head runners up to the intake valves.
Thanks for that. That description is more helpful for us with RHD cars as to where to place the catch can than saying the 'passenger side'.

For what it's worth, I installed a can on both sides just because... 🤷‍♂️ Admittedly, this is my 1st V8 so I didn't know the driver's side was not needed. But, I felt like filling the space where the 'fake noise' tube was with something more functional...

I've seen the muck that comes out of my turbo direct injected engines and the valve cleanings I've done were no fun.
Here's a few pics of what I captured at my 1st oil change at 7997 miles. Oil life monitor was at 4%. Refilled with Mobil 1 5W20.
I put the catch cans in around 5-6K miles ago. There was 1.1" of oil in the passenger side can. I est. 2-3oz. See Pics 1-3.
The driver's side was spotless and dry. 4-5 are driver's side.

I change my oil twice a year, every 6 months. I don't put a ton of miles on my car. If I dump my filter every 2 changes I have about 4oz in it. Not a lot, but that's 4oz that's now not coating the inside of my Intake manifold.

I happened to just do it yesterday and it literally takes me 5minutes or less to pop it out and empty it then clena and replace it every 12 months.
