485 HP will Trump 2015-2017 by volumes, besides Roush and Steeda are
working as I type on a front fascia facelift

Of course I couldn't care less about the two stars. But see how easy it is to raise the hackles of owners of the two star car. I intend keeping my car for 6 years. Six years of pub talk needling "Two stars, blah, blah, blah" I just don't need it.
And by waiting I get a better looking car!

At what pub do they sit around harassing each other about crash ratings? Sounds like a Volvo commercial

No way it'll be 485. That's too big of a jump at once. I doubt it has anything over 460.

Why not 485 N/A 10 SPEED ? even if it's not that much hell 460 will work for me better then the 430hp

Putting this in here so those asking about the '18 spoiler delete if it's available.

From C&D
The biggest visual change is for cars equipped with the Performance package, which inherit a gaudy new functional rear wing. Although Ford notes that the Subaru WRX STI–like piece has been thoroughly tested in the wind tunnel, the company will allow Performance package buyers to opt out of the big trunk-mounted picnic table.

You might be right. I think it comes down to the buyer. I think the 18 will sell better among enthusiasts and stay about the same for the masses. I'd argue that the only huge new performance thing the 2015s brought was IRS. Going from 14 to 15 you got the whole new exterior and interior, but a mostly carryover engine (I know the internals were improved) with only 15 more horsepower.

While the 18s aren't a radically new design, for the enthusiast I think it's a much bigger leap going from 17 to 18 than 14 to 15. New engine with almost certainly more than 15 hp bump, magnaride, much faster 10 speed auto or improved 6-speed manual, much better tires, active quad exhaust, and a possible PP2 package to take things even further, among other smaller things.

Only time will tell how sales will do, but even in a worse case scenario, the body style is only sticking around another 3 years.
What?? 14-15 was a completely different car. 17-18 is still an s550. 15s look completely different to the 14s.

Also people are in for a very rude awakening if they're expecting anywhere close to 480HP.

They will gain 15-20 hp from di and a bump in Compression. Assuming the displacement , bore and stroke remain the same there's only 1 more way to gain power and its rpm. As we've seen with the gt350 manifold hp gains are plenty on the top end and my assumption is a middle ground intake manifold that will still maintain plenty of torque and mid-range while adding another 15 hp and 10 lbs of torque. My guess will be 470-475 hp

Topnotch posted a month or so ago that displacement will be slightly up from 4.95L to 5.04L. I believe it was from a larger bore.

If the 2018 comes in at 475 HP and if Ford did not upgrade the internals, specially the rods and pistons, this could be the cause of the delay. The weak link to the 5.0 is the rods, so if anyone plans on adding a hair dryer I highly recommend upgrading the internals
