Switched to manual seats, installed a rear seat delete, and pulled out all the audio (speakers, head unit) and replaced with a factory radio delete panel.
I also removed the wacky factory foglights and replaced with foglight delete panels.

I got the very last set of EB pulleys available from Boomba. Last I heard, they were out of production. Sorry.

Not an S550 but here is an idea - 1988 Ford Mustang 5.0 LX hatchback:

No A/C
No power windows
No power locks
No power seats
No lighted vanity mirrors
No spare tire
No power mirrors
No radio
No antenna
No insulation
No options of any kind.

No weight number this time as others dispute the amount and I won’t go there again.

You get the idea. One of the fastest cars on the road at the time. Lasted 3 months before being totalled in a wild spinout at highway speeds. The only way to go...

For the real hard core you ditch the current wheels and go to smaller rims and taller tires. That makes for a faster car - in a straight line...

That would weigh about 2550-2600. Am I right?

About 3130 but watch old fox body owners fight that tooth and nail. Don’t even get me started on calling the 8.8 rear end a 9” as we all did up here back in the day. :cwl:

That’s odd?? Notchback V8s were 2800 I thought. Then remove everything.

Mine was a hatch and they were always about 3,200-3,300 or so. Let’s say I saved maybe 100-150 max but it was faster than the full loaded hatchback I replaced it with when I totaled the first one.

Going to the smallest and lightest rims will net the biggest gains, but don’t tell that to the frying pan rim lovers of today...

EDIT: I checked and even the notch back was just over 3,000 with the hatch at 3,100 dry. Throw in a human and gas and my car on the scales would seem to be spot on.
