OBDII & CarPlay!

Made a thread about this a while back trying to find a way to display gauges or PID data on CarPlay. For quick reference during HPDE etc. Tried using an Android phone and it was just not ideal at all.

Today - stumbled across a recently released (within a couple months) update to the existing OBD Fusion app and they now support CarPlay.

Tested briefly with some easy PIDs and it pretty much nails the basic use I was looking for. Now to build out a couple of pages of PIDs to use for track events.

inhg for tire pressure? does it have a useless unit for horsepower like chevaux-vapeur too?

It can be changed to whatever you prefer. I just did this quickly to test functionality

See if it live updates. I saw something the release notes about it not live updating when using dashboards on carplay.. Not sure if that meant a different kind of 'dashboard'

It does. It updated my CHT and spark advance on second test.

does it record ? I have the same app but use it for general use. What are you personally trying to monitor while you are on track?
I use RaceCapture system for events.

Racecapture is on my to-buy list but haven’t gotten to it yet. That system is significantly better. But on a quick budget this is great. It should do logging but not video recording.

My main desire is keeping my temps on display and tires on my IPC. A quick glance is better than trying to navigate ipc
