I'm sure it just wouldn't be quite as aggressive, having a little more tolerance. That used to be a fairly common practice having separate cool and warm weather tunes and even race vs street.

Good to know about SCT, maybe I'll look into those devices for logging. First I want to try to exhaust using a simple phone + OBD2 adapter though. I'm also getting a new tool/app soon. I'm getting the PLX Devices Kiwi App which is scheduled to be released very soon. I'm hoping using it with my PLX Devices Kiwi 3 OBD2 adapter will perform better. If not, at least they will be more likely to look into the performance issues and enhance them.

Does the OAR apply to a completely stock tuned car? I recently set the PID up in torque app and I've only ever seen it at -1 but haven't been monitoring it thattttt closely. I also have only ever fed the stangbang 93.

Yes, it applies to all cars tune/mods or not.

That sounds like a fuel issue. The OAR should be able to get to -1 on 91 octane. If you're running 93 and you're at -.96, I think it's the fuel. What brand gas and have you tried another? Does the fuel you're using have a 10% ethanol mixture? I don't know if or how much that impacts it but my guess is it would help. It seems almost all gas stations now use the e10, I think it's cheaper and helps them hit the octane number at a lower cost. That's just a guess though.

I avoid Shell because of past issues and haven't tried Costco although I hear nothing but good about them. Sometimes it isn't the gas brand itself but the station. Every station has a setup to prevent water from getting into the tank then it varies on what they can do to monitor it and what they do if it happens. My wife manages a Sunoco where I get my gas. If it rains a lot, it is possible for water to get in the tank. If it happens, there are monitors that will shut the tank off, divert delivery to another tank and alert the attendant. The attent calls corporate and they come and take care of it. It's hard to tell what other stations do. Maybe try a Sunoco, Chevron or Valero? Also, check if you were using an e10 blend or not. If not, maybe give one a try. If you have a datalog, you can probably tell by your AFR. If it's about 14.7:1, it likely has no ethanol. If it's around 14.0 - 14.1:1, it's probably an e10 blend.

All pumps around here have ethanol. I've only seen 91 without it. I'll give Valero a shot next tank. Brand new station next to my work. My wife been driving the EBM and I've been driving my Galant VR4. That car gives me more smokes per mile
