Ok a lil back story first. I was just parking at a movie theater in San Antonio to see American Sniper. I knew the night had alot in store as being a fellow Scout Sniper and meeting the Legend 2 times. Had to cuss out a group of call of duty couch warriors for being disrespectful.
But back to the store. I parked next to a white 2015 convertible guys looked to be in his 40s could not tell so I asked if it was a ecoboost or V6 wondering how he liked it. Also was a lil exited to speak to a fellow s550 owner in person. As he lit up his smoke he explained that he had no idea and just liked the way it looked so he bought it. I preceded to continue with my wife and Bros to see the movie. Just was so surprised

ecoboost and v6 have different badging on the rear of the car (pony vs. tri-bar with pony). The tri-bar w/ pony indicates that it is a v6.

This exactly on all counts. I do find it amusing that there are people like that, though.

I see your in Lynchburg VA. My family moved from Texas to Charlottesville VA when I was 5 and I stayed there till I joined the military. Had some close friends out that way.

Especially when they can't figure out why they're just spinning when they already put their chains on. I didn't offer an explanation. Wouldn't have been accepted by said individual.

My ex is from here and I work out of town a lot so we ended up moving here in 07'. I prefer Charlottesville but work/kids keeps me around Lynchburg. Love the mountains.

Possible. But are convertibles in rental stores yet?
It is very possible it was just someone who liked the look of the car and bought it. You'd be surprised how many people don't know much about cars. And with the look of this gen. there are bound to be many new Mustang owners who wouldn't otherwise be.

That's embarrassing. When asked today by a guy checking out our GT, "how much HP does this beauty have?". 435 she said with a smile. If even my wife knows stuff like that, that guy needs his guy card pulled.

Like, if you asked me what kind of blah-blah-blah my dishwasher has, I'd look at you like you had three heads. Whereas I'm sure some people really, really care about dishwashers. Some people view cars the same way. "It's a convertible... beyond that I don't know and I don't care to know."

this is true. i'd say at least 9 out of 10 people don't know much about cars except that they go faster when you step on the gas, and slower when you step on the brakes.
