Hi,

A VP racing fuels recently opened in our town. I noticed that they are advertising "non-ethanol premium" on their grade/price sign.

Wondering what advantages that straight gas would provide. I know that I'll get better mileage (due to the higher energy density of straight gas), but doesn't ethanol help prevent detonation? Haven't stopped in yet to see what the pump octane is yet. 92 octane is the usual pump octane for premium around here.

Do some research on E 0 . You will be amazed ..

Funny thing is here in the midwest we do not get E 0 . Which befuddles me where it is sold at .. around farming communities .. KMA ethynol farmers .

There are subsidies for Ethanol.
Big Oil puts it in gas, then makes a profit from the consumer, and from the government.
We lose.

Good luck finding it, and enjoy it while you can.
We just got E15 locally and it saddens me.

I'm not an ecoboost guy, so feel free to tell me to get outta here... :D

I looked into this a while back, and what I gathered is that ECU (in the GT at least) targets 14.1 AFR at cruise because it expects you to be using E10. If you switch to E0 and the ECU still targets 14.1, it will be unnecessarily rich because stoich for E0 is 14.7. To me, it seems like the car would run a little richer and not gain any gas mileage or other benefits of using E0. Not sure if that's exactly how it would work or not.
