I currently use Chevron 93 octane for my tune. My boss has a '15 Corvette Z06 and goes to the local Pure station and gets non ethanol 90 octane. He swears his car runs better with it. Current tune aside is it really that much better to run with?

If you could find ethanol free 93 octane you'd probably get a little better mpg but the power would likely be the same.

If you have a 93 octane tune just keep running 93 octane. You'll probably get knock with the lower octane pure gas.

I can't get 93 octane any where where i live. The best i can get is 91 octane ethanol free so i go with that and haven't had any issues with knock or pinging etc.

If you don't have an octane specific tune you shouldn't have ping even with 87 octane.
