Anyone had noisy rear discs? Started to notice a slight hum/vibration from the rear when the brake is applied. Only done 6000 relatively easy miles so not expecting the discs to have warped but...you never know!

I had something similar at the same mileage and it was the near side rear wheel bearing had collapsed

Cheers - sounds like a trip to the dealer is in order then.

I was convinced it was brakes but they did a run out test. I'll see if I still have the video

Thanks for that. Mine sounds like a very faint rumble when the brake is applied. I'll call the dealer in the morning to get it looked over.

The rear disks don't do much unless driven hard so can pick up a surface coating of rust that can make a noise when the brakes are applied

Got it booked in next Tuesday and I'll report back with the diagnosis.

Those rear hub/axle nuts can work loose causing play.
They are only lock tighted on

And have squish washers on them that squish back supposedly stopping them knocking off. But my front pass-side one the nut stuck and shagged the entire spindle. Needed a new hub, so if you know the hubs are going, i'd advise everyone to do them asap.

Update: car has been with the dealer for 9 days now. They are waiting for Ford to authorise replacing the rear pads and discs under warranty as the car has <6500 miles.

Dealer has no idea how long it will take Ford to give the green light to the warranty work.

Why not drive it until the parts are in?

I only really use it on a Saturday so I'll leave it with them.
