I'd love to know what was behind this. We may simply be a vocal minority. I live in the D/FW, TX area and had no luck finding a '13 with this option. I never could get a good answer from any dealer as to why. Is the car heavier ?
Weight is insignificant, but it's a relatively pricey option and we find that a lot of customers are (unnecessarily) scared of it because of hail, etc.

I have one in my PJ Saleen (the only PJ Saleen with one :headbang:) and I LOVE it.

If I recall correctly, the weight increase is 56 pounds.

The official weight of the roof is 28 pounds.
I humbly disagree with you, but if you can point me in the right direction, I would love to read about it.
The figure I quoted was from threads over at TMS back when it became available.

In this TMS thread it says 28

Here is another thread SVT Performance

If one is really concerned about weight going here would probably do more to help than the roof.

Too funny! ^^^ Yeah, I just looked at that same thread. I stand corrected. Either way 28 or 56, they are both insignificant.

What if I want to just spend $1k -$2k on a moonroof or glass roof instead of $5k on a drop top? That's a lot of dough.

Indeed one of the engineers confirmed there would be no panoramic roof when asked about it. I think it would be difficult to engineer a full roof replacement with shape of the metal. Given all the platform changes, I could see why it would not be offered. Perhaps something will change down the road, but at this point, it seems unlikely.

I can see why after further study of the twin ribs or what ever they are in the new roof line. :headbonk:

Yeah, I do realize that. However, in as much as there will not be one it seems. The only other option is a drop top. Having looked at the roof of the coupe, I don't even see how they could squeeze in a sun roof.

They said no panoramic roof, nothing about removable roof. I'm sure it can be built. It may not have the double bubble though.
