No Mustang for me - Redemption! :)

I got laid off yesterday, along with 5 colleagues.

I am more sad about missing the chance to buy the car I ordered than I am about losing a job! I was so excited about this purchase, in spite of the sheer expense, and I was having a lot of fun researching everything while waiting for it to come.

If I can find another decent job quickly, I will probably try to still buy the car. But one never knows how stable the replacement job will be.

I feel your pain! I had to cancel my order a few weeks ago due to an uncertain future. Not sure I'll be employed 6 months from now. Fortunately my dealer is awesome and refunded all of my deposit. Myabe I'll have a new 2016 next summer. Maybe not. I'm just glad I'm not stuck with a car payment if anything does happen.

I've been saving up for a Mustang since 2005. I've been through shit job after shit job, and watched as my savings would get eaten up by one unforseen expense after another. I feel your pain, man.

I guess what I'm trying to say is, it will happen! I hope it won't take you a damn decade to get your pony, but when you do, it'll be SO sweet to finally get those keys in your hands after all the crap you had to go through.

I hope you get a kickass job soon and land on your feet again!

+1 what he said. Everything happens for a reason man, and perhaps your next job will be twice as better off and set your future up for something much more exciting. Who knows. It always makes more sense later down the road. Maybe a new opportunity opened up and this is the best way for you to find it.

I was 51 before I got to drive my first new car off a dealers lot, and it was my '15 GT. The wife always got the new car, and I always drove to old car I had to wrench on. I've got lots of cool tools now though!

A few wks ago I was in your situation with a job that was no longer going to be there. I had to cancel my order I placed on an aftermarket exhaust and was divestated over that (couldn't imagine having to cancel my order on a Mustang). Thought all was lost then within a wk or so after that another opportunity presented itself and this job is better in every category. So I (and like others have said) have been where you're at right now. Keep your head up, don't give up, cause you never know what tomorrow will bring. You just may still get that Mustang you ordered.
