Congrats on the order!

You won't be getting a VIN for some time yet. Convertible production won't start until Job 2; you can expect to get your car sometime in the new year. When exactly in the new year isn't quite clear yet. Only a few people -- most of whom got their orders put in as stock orders through dealers -- have VINs. I ordered on June 20 and haven't gotten one yet.

Good luck with the new car. You'll enjoy it!

By new year do you mean Jan 2015? Told 8 Wks by dealership. Was he blowing smoke up my a**? Hope not he is a friend of mine.

He was wrong, sorry to say. No way it'll be 8 weeks.

January 2015 would be very optimistic for convertibles ordered this week -- like I said, I ordered my fastback on June 20, and my dealer is telling me to expect delivery sometime in January 2015, although I think more realistically it will be November.

For convertibles its well and truly a guess, other than that they have to wait for Job 2, but I'd say that March 2015 is probably a reasonable estimate. Although January is certainly possible.

Lol awesome. I'd definitely hold it over his head haha, but I don't think he meant to lead you astray on purpose. He probably assumed it'd be the same as any previous order he's ever made. 8 weeks sounds like a pretty typical time frame once things are rolling smoothly.

Jimmy, did your dealer say January because he entered it as a Retail Order. I ordered on June 10th as retail and then my dealer changed it to a stock order in an attempt to get it earlier. Just curious how your dealer came up with January as opposed to Oct or Nov.

Yes, it's a retail order rather than a stock order. Stock orders will be coming sooner. I was a little leery of asking them to put it in as a stock order, since there's always going to be some kinks to work out during the initial production run and I'd rather not be the guinea pig.

I'm sure you are right. He is a friend and I know he would not purposely mislead me. He is out of town, but will return Friday. The price was certainly right, so that's some salve for my gaping wound. :)

I was feeling the same way. was on the fence. My dealer actually changed it without asking me and then I left it as stock. I got one of the first 11's in 2010 and the car has been perfect, plus, I am hopeful that with all the testing and waiting and rescheduling they are actually working out the kinks. We'll see....

Congrats, and welcome to the other side. ;)

If this car lives up to expectations, I think this is going to be a common theme...

Yes indeed. I was very attracted by its lines and design. Very attractive car IMO, and just acquired a pic of the 50yr Appearance Raven seats, very nice.

It'll be more than 8 weeks for a lot of the May Fastback orders to show up. Your 'vert, being Job 2, will be in 2015 from all we have heard around here.

Sorry. Wish your dealer were right, since that would mean my July 14 order would be here that much sooner. I am hoping to see my car in 9 or 10 weeks, if I am lucky. No VIN or build date yet, just somewhat informed speculation.
