Hi everyone.

Super excited to have pulled the trigger on some SVE R325 wheels from Late Model Restoration. They have a pretty sick sale going on.

I went with gloss graphite to breaI away from the black PP wheels and give the car some better contrast (Ingot Silver). They are a good bit lighter as well, which I’m excited about.

They’re 19x10 and 19x11. It seems the ideal size is 285/35/19 and 305/35/19. There are plenty of 285’s to choose from, but very limited 305/35/19.

However, 295/35/19 is the next size down… Continental ExtremeContact are available in both sizes and are the “least” expensive of the bunch.

Are there other “good” choices for that setup? There are more 285/30/19 and 305/30/19 choices avail, however my concern is related to the effect on the speedometer/odometer readings.

A 305/35/19 is right around 27.4” I believe and the factory 275/40/19 is 27.7, so not a huge difference. A 305/30/19 is closer to lower 26” though. 295/35/19 seems to be a good choice as well (27.1”) - is this enough tire for an 11” wheel?

Looking for suggestions on tire brands and the best size.

Thanks!

I know someone who went 285/35 and 325/30 on those size wheels for the same reason. The tire he went with didn't come in 305/35.

I'm going through this same process with some LMRs. Pretty sure I'm gonna get 285s in front, 295s in rear. The speedo isn't even 2mph off up to 90mph. I'm ok with that. And it's enough tire. I know about guys running 285s on those 11" rears. They said it works. So the 295s certainly will.

Agreed, the 295's will be just fine. I had that issue myself. When i bought the car it had cooper tires on it, but they replaced the fronts with lexani-twenty series in the front only and left the rears. I didnt see the need to change all four so i replaced the rears to match. Only thing was lexani had 305-30's but the coopers were 305-35. The next closest they had was 295-35. I went with the 305's the speedo is off 1.5 mph up to 90 so i can deal with that.

I recently upgraded to the Mach 1 HP wheels

continental contact sports
305/30/19
325/30/19

Bad thing is there is hardly any decent tire choices in 315/30/19 other than summer tires only. My speedo
Is crazy weird down low……I got on it one time and I was doing 90 in third gear around 7200…….lol

I used this in my Subaru because I changed from a WRX to an STi transmission and the Vehicle Speed Sensor was different, so odometer and speedometer readings were off.

All you need to do is intercept the VSS signal wire and put this inline, you then calibrate it so the speedometer is accurate. I used a Garmin for speed reference at 60 mph. Of course you’ll need to find schematics and be comfortable with messing your wiring.

I would not do this. I think this issue can be fixed with ForScan if it needs to be

I run 305/35 nitto G2's along with the Rii's in 305's. I think the 305's fill the wheel well out better than 285s.
The G2's are a decent traction tire for a stock stang and they are fairly quiet.

Well if there’s a way to do it by changing parameters with the onboard systems, totally agree. I’m not familiar with ForScan, I just saw a post about it and it all seemed to be about enabling/disabling certain features.

Thank you guys so much for the input, that gives me a lot to work with.

Based on the input, I’ll probably go 295/35 to keep the speedo close.

Excited to get these on!
