In the case of Mustangs, there is the main port (dash tray) and remote port (center console bin).

That makes more sense to me than the numerous posts claiming the center console is the main and the dash tray is the remote. The reason I say that is I have one 128GB USB drive that works fine in the dash tray but throws an error saying it draws too much power when plugged into the console bin. Made no sense for the main to not work but the remote would.

Also, on many of Ford's parts order pages including the one for this part they include:

What size USB hub do you have now? Will either of these fit?

Could check fordparts.com for the one the 2017 Mustang comes with... not sure the part number.

I am only aware of these, they may not fit a Mustang. I don't own one.

There is a bug where the installer runs out of free space since non-nav units have less internal storage (8GB vs 32GB)... waiting on a fix. Soon!

As usual Ford does so much testing lol.
