Well, I'm changing jobs, and therefore losing my company truck. I really don't want to daily the stang, so I'm looking for a new whip.

The Cherokee is set to be traded on a new Bronco or a drop top Jag, if things go well. I really like the versatility of a truck, so that's the direction I'm headed. The question is which one.

No way will it be an F-150. I've driven various white F-150s for the last 20 years, and it's time for a change. Plus, the F-150 would be too much of a tie to the ild place of employment. I'm not a fan of the Dodge, and want a U.S. product. I love the new Ranger, and there's huge aftermarket support for it. The only issue is, it's a little small if we want to put four adults in it. The Checy Trail Boss 1500 looks great, and would certainly be big enough to haul a group, but the gas milage is brutal, and it's about 4K more than the Ranger.

Anyone with a Ranger or Silverado want to chime in with pros / cons? Or anyone else for that matter.

Going to look and test drive both today. We'll see what happens.

Looks like it's going to be the Jeep Gladiator. Went drove one in the insistence of my wife. As ugly as it is, it's a blast to drive. We'll see if I can get the deal I want.

I’ve been driving Silverados for 20 years and they are bulletproof. Only very minor issues, very reliable, and the extra elbow room over midsize trucks is sooooo nice.

I have owned all three and still have the Ranger. Had the new redesign Chevy LTZ and the brand new Gladiator. The Chevy will be the best since it has the most room, comfort and incredible gas mileage. I still border line regret trading my Silverado for the Ram. The 5.3 motor in the Chevy will get up to 28-30 mph on the highway and consistent 21-22 in town. I am a huge Ford guy and must say Chevy. Jeep has solid front axle which equates to wandering down the road and or called walking. Ranger is awesome but to small, for back seat comfort. Ram is a gas hog but damn nice truck and best ride.

Under powered, shuts off every stop, can be over ridden. BUT must be reset, off everytime you get into drive> everytime .........

Good luck with that, I walked because of the thought of that annoying PIA.

And she’s a gas hog and as stated slow and under powered. If mine had the 392 motor I would have kept her and I traded her for this😁

I went from 19 Raptor to new Ranger. I can honestly say I LOVE my Ranger with the Ford Performance Tune. Really wanted the Ranger Tremor but it wasn't available at the time. Only issue I see for you is room for the kids. Mid-size would be tough in any platform/brand with multiple kids involved.

Good luck with the Gladiator. Hopefully you get a good one. A few friends had them but had issues and not happy after the honeymoon phase wore off. But they were both 1st year models.

I’ve owned Silverado’s my whole life. Get the 6.2 gas mileage is the same the motor is way stronger. FYI though I’m a GM person. Look at the RAM for the same money the interior far surpasses both the Chevy and the Ford by miles. Go look at the dodges and the tried and true 5.7 hemi is great and the 8 speed trans is butter. I drove one and almost bought it, it was that good. Ordered my mustang instead. 🤷🏼‍♂️

Pretty happy with my 2020 ranger. 2 inch level. Some bigger tires and some 3 inch flares got it lookin right. HP is good and the price was awesome under 29k.

Logon onto a Jeep Forum, plenty to learn ........... education is free.

The huge "A" pillars on these new trucks really create a blind spot. Drove one for a week, as mine was in the shop. Really noticeable, maybe owning and driving, one could get use to it.

Ford or Chevy for me also

So many great responses! Thanks to all of you.

1. @IceAge Chevy gas milage quest. Dealer and research shows 15 & 18 mpg. Ymmv, but that's a huge difference.

2. @Mikepol2 and @P4mnceblue82 the back seat room is a concern with the Ranger, but not huge. The Chevy is a dang fine looking truck.

3. @bluebeastsrt love the look! I relly like the Ranger, the Gladiator seems like a lot of fun though.

4. @Rapid Red I'm on the Gladiator forum checking things out. Soooo much to learn if we go that way.

I'm just not a fan of the Ram. Not sure why, just not my jam. Wait, ram jam, Whoa Black Betty!

Going to drive a Ranger tomorrow. That should sum things up. Ford and Chevy lots are looking slim, Jeep dealer had over a dozen Galdiators.

FWIW I get a solid 15 city with the 6.2L in the Silverado, and over 20 highway. 72,000 miles and runs like a champ.

The front seat is actually what I was trying to emphasize with the increased cabin width.... plenty of room for you and a front seat passenger to travel in comfort. But that goes for F150 and Ram too.
