Hey guys! I'm new here, how is everyone? Nice to meet you all.

I had a few questions I was hoping some people could help me out with, I'd appreciate it!

First off, breaking in period...I've heard so many different recommendations. I've been driving my car fairly gently, giving it some gas here and there but really haven't "floored" it. Before I try out 0-60 times, gassing it more, etc..how many miles should I hit? I'm guessing about 1k? I'm currently at about 640!

Second...I know I just got the car, but of course I'm already thinking of things I could do to it, haha! One of the things I was considering was getting the brake calipers painted or getting painted covers. There are two websites I found (Not sure if I can post links), but they will paint match a caliper cover to fit over your brakes. Has anybody had any experience with this? I really wanted to color match my Velocity Blue, I personally think it would look good, but aside from the color, will caliper covers fit? Should I stay away from that? The companies that can do this are called RPI Designs and MGP Caliper Covers. Curious if anybody has had experience with these places too!

Third...I own the 2019 Ecoboost Premium with Performance Pack. I absolutely love the gloss black grill that the GT has though. Is it possible in any way to get the grill on my Eco? If so, how? I can't seem to find it anywhere online being sold.

Last, but not least...again I'm absolutely loving the car. Though do you guys have any recommendations of what to do to the car? So far I've gotten the Windows Tinted, but that's about it!

Again, thank you so much in advance! I really appreciate it!

Yes the GT grill will work the only thing you need is a GT grill and a free day to remove the bumper cover to and change out the grills.

And one other thing only run the highest octane fuel available.

I drove my Speed 3 fairly gently for the first 3,000 miles. No heavy braking during the 1st kilomile. Some full-throttle runs, but a long, lazy rest period of moderate rpm afterward. First oil change at 1K. We took a road trip of about 1,000 miles while it was still bedding in. Steady 55 for a while, then a high-gear run up to 80 or so, hold that for a few miles, back down to 65 for a while. Up to 80 and hold that.

Those bursts were the most fun: that Speed 3 would go from 60 to 80 in sixth gear with just a gentle nudge. Anyway, on the way back, we passed the 3K mark, so it was 75-85 the rest of the way home. That trip was when I got the best MPG ever: 30.8 on the way out. Upper 28s on the way back. Since then, the car has not used or lost any oil. I can "summon the demons" whenever needed without a whimper or reluctance. If I keep my foot out of the turbo, I can get 26-28 MPG at 80 mph all day.

I was gentle with my motor the first 1000 miles. I'm past 30k now with no issues, so I think 1k is good for break-in.

If the thrills start to fade, eventually, the best performance mod is a Cobb tuner, IMO. It's simple to add, just read the directions, plug it in, follow the instructions on the screen, and you're good to go faster. Its more power, more torque, and much more responsive to the gas pedal. After that, you might think about aftermarket intercoolers and exhausts.

People should just read the manual.

BREAKING-IN

Tires
New tires need to be run-in for approximately 300 mi (500 km). During this time, you may experience different driving characteristics.

Brakes and Clutch
Avoid heavy use of the brakes and clutch if possible for the first 100 mi (150 km) in town and for the first 1,000 mi (1,500 km) on freeways.

Engine
Avoid driving too fast during the first 1,000 mi (1,500 km). Vary your speed frequently and change up through the gears early. Do not labor the engine.

I've always thought the covers look cheesy. They'd look better painted. Velocity Blue might be a tough color to do on calipers, I doubt you'll find a close match in high temp paint. Red would look good with a blue car. If you want to go all out, the red Brembos from the Bullit would look awesome. (Especially if you consider the GT350 style stripes that are black with red pin stripe edge, like I wish i'd done instead of the factory stripe.)

Its a Ford factory part. Try Ford dealers instead of after market. Like Tasca, Levitown, etc.

I'd strongly consider some kind of PPF for the front bumper, first 1/4 of the hood, and quarter panels.I think the Steeda stop the hop starter kit was a 'must have'; not expensive, but makes the car handle much better. Lowering springs will also help, and improve looks too. Lots of people like to add spacers to push the wheels out for a more aggressive look. If you do that, get rock guards too, since the fronts will be more prone to sling stuff into the quarter panels. For the EB, a great first mod for performance is an intercooler if you plan on pushing it hard on a regular basis, the stock one heat soaks in a hurry. What kind of mods are you more interested in, cosmetic, or performance?

Thanks for such a detailed reply! Eventually I want to get into some performance mods, I'm starting off slowly with some cosmetic without trying to break the bank so far. So far I've ordered some 2.3T side emblems, and led side markers. A couple other leds for the interior and the reverse light, but that's about it so far. Just some little things. I've been considering some side scoops as well.

Even though I'm a Car Enthusiast, I really don't know too much mechanical stuff or how to take things off to paint, like the brakes, etc..so I'm limited to my little knowledge or else I need to pay to get them done.

In the future I hope to get some sort of aftermarket exhaust and a tune.

Starting off slow, but I love my car already stock. The few things I got so far will be nice though!

Whatever you do please do not put caliper covers on your car.
After hearing everyone's opinion about them so far, I probably won't go that route!

If you're mechanically inclined at all, you can probably do more mods than you think. CJ Pony Parts has loads of how-to videos that help figure out what to take apart/put together in what order. Its not much more complicated than turning screws. Before this car, i'd never done much more to a car than an oil change, or air filter. If i'd paid for install for the mods ive done so far, i'd have probably spent 1k-2k. Much more than enough to buy a few tools, jack, jack stands, etc. (Make sure you include a torque wrench.) Just research your mods before you do them, watch a few videos to make sure you feel confident doing it yourself. Maybe start will less technical ones, like the IRS braces, or Air Raid intake tube (dont bother with the full CAI). Then slowly work your way into more complicated stuff. Also, hook up with a local Mustang enthusiast group, probably on Facebook. Many will have mod days. People will help you do yours, you can help them do theirs, and learn lots in the process. This is the prime time of year for mod days too.

Thanks so much! Great advice.
I'm in Southern California, so I'll for sure start looking for some local Mustang Groups!

Congratulations on your Mustang. I would start with a drop-in high flow air filter. There are oil vs.non oiled types. I use the K&N drop in filter.

Do not get a catch can, useless and can introduce problems where a problem doesn't exist. If you install a catch can and it causes a problem you will be on the hook for the damage.

Going in 4 years without a catch can and no problems.

Void your warranty at your own risk.

Let's keep it civil in here. I know anytime catch cans are mentioned, it sparks a heated debate.

Welcome to the forum! Before I recommend any mods, what are your goals for the car? Is it a dd, an all-arounder, auto crosser, track car, drag car?

At 640 miles, you are good to start running it hard anytime. In my opinion, I'd say anytime after 500 miles.
