Ok so picking up my eb tonight. Had a few questions. besides changing out the oil as soon as i get home what other things should i be looking out for. Not new to turbo cars, had california's fastest stock turbo srt back in the day and a big turbo foxbody. Currently have a high reving motor fox but still i like to learn as much as possible. Also what kind of oil are you guys having success with? I use redline in just about everything but everything i have is no newer than a 98 lol.

I wouldn't recommend changing out the factory oil immediately. I think most ppl do it after 1000 miles at the earliest. I didn't change it til 5000 miles and I'm at 16,000 miles running strong

Other than that, check your charge pipes to make sure they're on tight because a lot of ppl with 15 models had issues with them coming loose

Edit: One more thing, make your dealer fill it with premium so you don't have to drive around for days with decreased hp on crappy gas. The EB loses a good 11% peak hp on 87

Change it at 1k miles or so. Most people are running Rotella T6. It does really well in these cars. I use a Motorcraft filter because they have gotten excellent reviews on BITOG and they can be picked up at Walmart for $3.

for a tune, get cobb access port from maperformance and get 1 free tune from Adam, one of the best options unless you want to try livernois, unleashed or lund. Intercooler is a must, the stock is absolute rubbish. Get a good catch can system too, upr has some good options.

I second checking the turbo piping. In fact, don't even check it. Go and get a flat head screw driver and tighten all the turbo plumbing...you might find some surprises...

Rotella t6 and a wix filter at 1k. Get a catch can right now, a dual valve, upr has a brand new one with breather which they guarantee will fix any problems you have with oil in pipes.
After that is tune with map and a ic. Downpipe if you want an extra kick.

I'll go ahead and recommend Livernois for tuning because you pay $600 for top of the line tuning plus ongoing tune revisions/updates at no additional cost

quick cheap trick i used on my SRT and worked super well was duck tape the shit out of the charge pipes. A son of a b**** to get back on but never failed me once. Tune ill probably be going to a local guy out here in socal we all go to (addiction motorsports) i know cobb and map are GREAT tuners. Just not a huge fan of canned tunes.

Just get T bolt clamps and you wont need to duct tap the pipes.

Nobody is really having issues with exploding/over exbanding the stock charge pipes. There are many of us making really good power and not having any issues on mostly stock equipment;)

Their (Unleashed/Map/Liver) e-tunes aren't canned. IMO a "drop in" tune is about worthless. If you're gonna tune- get the best.

You can get an e-tune from Adam (MAP) that'll blow the crap out of everything else. With EcoBoosts especially, you want a tuner that's familiar with the platform and it's quirks/characteristics. I'd highly recommend going with an established EB tuner.

Since you have had turbos before, I assume you like to hear that turbo sound. Something just as simple as a high flow drop in air filter will allow you to hear the turbo and BOV much better than stock. Obviously a CAI is even better. I also agree on the recommendation to get a tune.

In this order. Fill tank with 93, check charge pipes, change oil, and get tune. Congrats on the purchase!!
