MSRP to MSRP is the only fair comparison.

If you get a GTPP for say..32,500 out the door and someone else gets a 1SS for 31,850..does that mean the Mustang was more expensive all along?

No, it means you got a better deal, which can vary wildly.
Not really. MSRP to MSRP is only worthwhile if its the same company with the same incentive structure on that particular platform. Across different companies, MSRP is meaningless in terms of real world actual cost differentials.

Its a recommendation used to associate a certain value field with the end consumer. Different manufacturers have different incentive policies. Some have year round incentives, others do not. When setting MSRP they know what incentives will be baked in, and will offer additional ones to react to demand. Its a sales tactic. Some manufacturers purposefully inflate the MSRP knowing they will have a slew of incentives available. Others do not.

What matters is what is actually paid when making a comparison.

Here is what is very valid regarding value, and it's not MSRP, it's average transaction price. Market average for a 2016 GT PP is almost $2000 under MSRP. Thanks Truecar.

Anyone that pays more than invoice OTD is simply paying too much, for any car. Very few vehicles are worth mrsp or near, OTD.
The 6G Camaro is:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

Added the same for the 1SS. Market average $1800 higher.

Below is for the 1SS with the 8 spd auto.

GT Prem PP market avg. $39,000
2SS market avg. $42,877

So you haven't driven them on the track, but you are confident that you know...

I'm not surprised.
Not a track but back to back on some back roads. My job is fantastic. It's a base manual GT vs my soon to be used 2016 SS.

I'm sorry, but this makes NO sense.

Is there a quick way to identify an SS in the wild? GT's are easy. Look for the 5.0 from the side or the big GT on the back. With camaros all I know to do is strain my eyes trying to see the tiny SS on the deck lid.

Bigger front grill. Hood vents.
