New 2021 oil weight recommendation

Any idea or official explanation why Ford now recommends 5w-30 for the 2021 Coyote, from the previous 5w-20 viscosity?

Hello; There has been a lot of discussion about this in other threads on this site. Not sure what it implies. Some have written they intend to use the 5-30 even tho their car calls for 5-20.
You may get some replies as this is an important question.

No, and you're probably not ever going to see it...at least not an honest straightforward answer. They may come out and say some mumbo jumbo, but in the end they will never release the true reasoning behind it for the sake of not alienating the previous 9 model year owners.

5W30 was always "allowed" and recommend in the manual for extreme driving. Maybe they just said F it because the Mach E and the new cylinder deactivated F150's got their CAFE average high enough to where it didn't matter anymore. Not that using 5W20 is an issue in itself, but this is basically proof that it never mattered to begin with if you wanted to use 5W30

Its just kinda hard to think of the proper key words for the search bar. It was way easier to construct a question. But anyway, I got what I needed and someone already pointed me to the right thread. Admins can delete this post.

I guess the 5W-30 for extreme driving started for Gen 2 Coyotes? For Gen 1 Coyotes, normal GTs took 5W-20 and Track Pack trims took 5W-50 because Ford thought they would get track use. But that 5W-50 oil would shear all the way down to a 5W-30 according to a lot of people.
