There is a youtube video of a kid cutting this open.
There are fibers and wool mesh in the two big chambers. But the small chamber does not have any, probably because both pipes are perforated and needed pressure to crossover for accoustics.
9 lbs for firewall brace
7 lbs for strut bar
2 lbs cowl extension
1 lbs for lower kmemeber
there’s a reason why ford placed them on the pp vsrsion. Non for cruising, but you’ll never know when have to do evasive maneuvers like debris in the highway.
I do those things. I love the mpg of the car n the highway and I don’t have any issue with mpg in long drives.
That said, I really wish the s550 has at least an 18 gal capacity like other grand tourers.
Yeah, I don’t mind if admins just delete
Yeah I don’t mind the penalty…
Its just kinda hard to think of the proper key words for the search bar. It was way easier to construct a question. But anyway, I got what I needed and someone already pointed me to the right thread. Admins can delete this...
Curt hitch did not clear my standard quad exhaust mufflers (the seem weld at the side of the mufflers where a tad wide). So I bought the MRT oval mufflers with quad double walled tips lol!
I agree with the tongue weight at 150 lbs, specially the way the hitch is bolted on the “thin sheet” rails. What I also like about the Curt is that it uses a total of 8 bolts, compared to just 6 with the Draw-tite. It spreads the stress on the car’s sheet metal more.
Idk why the later didn’t...
Still doesn’t change the fact that the hood It self was designed without any hood struts in mind.
Even if it was Ford branded, those struts are still more than the rest of those aftermarket add on parts.
Yep. The splash panel is good if you change your own oil because you now only have to remove one small screw to open a flap to get to the oil filter. Kbrace and the splash panel are separate items but they go together under the car.
Oem Strut bar is only a little less than 7 lbs. I bought it as...
Sorry to necro an old thread, but I'm thinking about removing it too but don't want to lose any gain it offers as Ford wouldn't put this big ugly thing for no reason.
I noticed that there a curve that tapers downward on the leading edge of the cover, that's obviously an aero design. I'm...
I think Walmart dropped out the pup from their inventory. When went there, all the oil where re-stocked and shelves where full of different brands and viscosities.
The Penzoils were full to with different grades but only the regular and platinum, no ultra. So I just went with mobil1 extended...
That is not enough, the cowl extension goes deeper, behind the wipers mechanism, there will be a second "firewall" where you bolt the cowl extension. I actually had to remove the wiper arms, in order for me to bolt it properly.
I didn't even have the space for the torque wrench, so I just...
It connects the two thin walls of the "firewall" that houses the wipers mechanism.
Without it, the firewall brace will just bolt on to one thin sheet of metal. The extension cowl brace braces that to the "inner" sheet metal.
Finger print scaners doesn't have to be on the actual surface exposed. As I've said, it could be placed behind a thicker conductive glass to be protected from the elements and still work.
