I have a 2015 GT PP with lund e85 tune, pmas and 3" muffler delete. Friday i took it the local 1/8 (my first time doing digs with this car) and i was met with wheelspin which i already knew based on that fact that even on a low roll stock pirellis suck. I tried the launch control at 3000rpm and my 60ft was at [2.6], 2nd run did the same but feathering the throttle and my 60ft went down to [2.4]. I have a set of nt555r 305/40/18 that i will be putting on next time. Whats the best way to launch these mt82?

On the S550 Mustangs you have to disable the ground speed indicator on the instrument cluster, and put it in the air speed mode, makes the S550 Mustang faster than the speed of light.:headbonk:

This actually might help from Alex Flores. It's not specifically drag launching but could be applicable.

And if you don't have a BMR cradle lockout kit or Steeda rear IRS braces, you're in dire need.

Do NOT buy upgraded vertical links. They're useless until about 800 RWHP.

Having had a s197 Brembo which is similar in gearing, and many, many stick shift muscle cars, here are some tips. My Brembo was 600rwhp.

1) The stock Pirelli summer tires stick quite good if hot. DO NOT go through the water. If you do, water will be retained in the tread and be worse than if you never heated your tires and it is cold outside. Make a wide berth and go around.

2) Heat the crap out of them. I mean spin so there is so much smoke you cannot see. Absolutely no water.

3) If you go to test and tune where you can run over and over again, first start off without any wheelspin and then accelerate hard. You will find the "sweet spot" after a few runs where you can engage at just the right clutch speed and rpms. You can practice this on a deserted road using your timer. Just keep doing the "0-60" over and over. Remember, if you get the pirellis hot, they will stick.

4) This is nothing like slicks. Slicks you go though the water heat them seriously and launch by nearly side stepping the clutch. Street tires and a stick take practice, practice, practice. Like using a handgun. You have to shoot a lot to be good.

5) If you let the clutch out slow with rpms up higher you can launch good, but it is very hard on the clutch.

Was just looking at the steeda rear braces and seems very easy to install so im buying that asap. I can see why stock tires and wheel hop can cause trouble on 400whp+

GreenS550 is right on the money. Not to mention that with 3.73s, you are really going to have a tough time with traction. Practice, practice, practice and don't forget to have fun!
