The only way to tell for sure we're a leak is coming from is a smoke test period, no matter how much you look or think, u can't tell unless you hear specifically where it's coming from or a smoke test

Can you please tell me how to do a smoke test?

You have to take it to a shop that has a smoke machine, or borrow one. They pull your intake off and hook it up and blow smoke, then if there is smoke coming out from anything you have a leak, you should also hook it up to the tailpipes and do the same thing to make sure the housing isn't leaking. That's the only method I know unless someone on here knows a different way?

I have to wait till Monday. What's really frustrating me is, how could it be a boost leak because once the noises starts happening and I turn off the engine and turn it back on the noise goes away and the performance is back to normal

I'll be honest I'm no expert, I just know from reading some of the forum topics and I had a similar issue. I'm not saying that's what it is, but if I was you I would go back to stock intake. That's when your problems starting happening. I would switch back drive the car for a little while then see how it's driving. If it's normal and no issues at all, I would stay stock.

I can't tell from those pics, but your description is a lose of boost . there have been many reports of the intercooler hoses by intercooler coming off .

I would see if you can loosen the clamps and reposition hose into IC and then tighten each side. check both ends of IC .

If its to tight to get to from top, remove bottom front pan and it will be clean access to it .

The fact that is happening means there is a issue either boost leak or surge. Reverting back to stock is just masking the problem. I'm going to remover the coolant housing right now and check the IC clamps

its probably the intercooler pipes but make sure the recirculate valve is plug in right (electronic plug ).

Good luck, I see exstensive experience with this exact problem and spent months on it, adjusting clamps hopefully will help, but the truth of the matter of you want it done right you need a smoke test. Good luck

From the picture, that is about to come off... Push it all the way in and tighten the clamp.

I'm removing the bumper and putting in the mishimoto intercooler then I'm going to tighten the clamp

Decided not to install the mishimoto intercooler, I took off the bumper to make sure the clamps on the intercooler were tight, went on a drive afterwards and all the sudden the hot air hose on the intercooler came off. Going to the dealership this Monday to drop my car iff

If that is happening, maybe the clamp is bad but you need to make sure the hose and clamp are behind the lip of the pipe or IC end .

I used to do a lot IC and turbo upgrades and many kits had straight pipe ends , well was very common to blow the hoses off so we used to bend a lip so it didn't blow off and with good clamps . The normal hose clamps are not the best .
