I need some advice. I've got a 2023 Mach1 that I bought from out of state last year. Long story short, the original owner blasphemed the car by cutting off the original exhaust and replaced it with some aftermarket mufflers. I did not find this pout until after the car was shipped up (the dealer was cool and we worked it out), but it left me in a conundrum where I had to purchase an aftermarket setup to get the active exhaust working again. At the time, the only option that I was remotely interested in was a Borla S-type, but they only came in a GT variant. AWE did not have their Mach 1 setup out yet, otherwise I would have bought that. (I previously owned a 2019 PP1 with an AWE setup and loved it).

I pushed forward with the Borla S-type for the GT and overall it works well on the car. I absolutely love the sound and I do love the look of the carbon fiber tips. However, my OCD completely gets to me on the size and placement of the tips in combination with the GT500 valence. AWE now has their Mach 1 system out and I find myself trying to convince myself just to enjoy my Borla setup. I really am happy with the sound; it's perfect to me. However, I want the 5" tips centered properly and I'm sure I'd be just as happy with the sound. I had contemplated getting the Borla setup for the GT500 but I don't want the ATAK mufflers. Borla stated that I could try to bend the hangers some to center the tips better, so that's an option I haven't explored yet. I also stand to take a financial hit trying to sell a used Borla system just to replace it for looks, but I've also lost more money on dumber things before in life. Am I crazy for wanting to make the switch?

I sort of had the same problem after installing my S-Type exhaust on my GT. Both sides lined up perfectly after install. I did notice right before winter weather hit and I parked the car in the garage for winter that the passenger side had shifted enough where the tips had just started to melt a tiny tiny portion of the valence around the them. So after the winter weather had subsided I just got under the car and loosened up the bands and shifted the passenger side out so the tips were centered again. Come the year after I installed some rear sub-frame goodies and it shifted the driver side out of position. So I just once again did the same thing as the passenger side with shifting some things around.

I do have the full catback exhaust from Borla, so I do know there is some leeway to make adjustments for alignment from the rear of the x-pipe section, and every section that is banded. I was also able to remove the unevenness of the tips . Personally I don't like the inner tips of the mufflers being higher that the outside tips being higher and giving it a angular look as I prefer the tips to be flat.

It's possible that I'll have to make more adjustments as more temp is put into the system as time goes on as the metal keeps expanding and shrinking, but we will see what happens.
